Does Down's Syndrome scare you? It frightened me. These are just some of the thoughts that hovered in Mini's mind when she was diagnosed, but they were actually shortly after her dramatic entry into the world.

Is it my fault?

Did I cause this somehow?

How will she lead an independent life?

Will she have friends?

Will she be happy or isolated and lonely?

How will I deal with raising children with special needs?

My name is Ai Ding. I am an eternal teenager, trapped in a reluctantly aging body. Therefore, I haven't figured out what I will do when I grow up. Please answer on the postcard.

I like writing, although writing does not always pay off! -Travel and cake.

I am the mother of two amazing girls and the partner of a long-suffering, patient and tanned Frenchman. We both live in the bustling town of Galway in western Ireland.

I started this blog to deal with the fact that my first child came to this world with some extras. Some societies are not always optimistic about something-an extra chromosome on the 21st pair of chromosomes, or in other words, she has Down syndrome. I lost my temper and sulked at the universe, until one day, the tiny adult rational voice in me, I was usually very clear by the endless replays of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and the mountains of Toffy Pops:

Yes, she has Down syndrome, but this does not prevent her from running, jumping, dancing, singing and living a fulfilling life. Compared to her peers, it takes longer to achieve this goal, but she is obviously amazing, so how do you understand this amazing little person you helped create. Forget what she can’t do and enjoy what she can do. She might surprise you.

She does this every day. She is every toddler I imagined-full of love and great fun. Unless she is wearing super grumpy pants. Then to be honest, she was a little bit painful.

Recently, we welcome another mini to join our Franc0-Celtic family and share our adventures-Mini Mini, born in November 13th.

These are our stories.

Thank you for visiting a small corner of our network. We would love to get to know you better.
